Blueprint Artwork Map Handsewn Leather Tube Carrying Case (Dark Brown). We are Walnut Studiolo, a family-run designer and workshop on the gorgeous Oregon Coast. We create thoughtful modern designs with our hand skills and all-natural materials (leather, wood, metal). In a walnutshell, it all started in 2009 with Etsy and designer/maker Geoffrey Franklin’s old 1978 Bianchi road bike. Biking to work every day in Portland, Oregon inspired Geoffrey to customize his ride. When he couldn’t find what he was looking for, he decided to create his own unique designs. His wife Valerie put his designs on Etsy, and Walnut Studiolo was born. Today we still make our own original designs by hand in our Oregon workshop. Bicycle accessories have been our core focus but as I grew my business, I came to expand into other fields that I love, like travel games, beer, and architectural accents like drawer handles. In these products, we’re expressing our love for good design, architectural concepts, and natural materials in products that I would want to use myself… And I do use myself. I design all of the products you see here from scratch and I field-test all my design until I’m comfortable with them before listing them on our shop. My goal is to make high-quality, beautiful, durable, and most of all functional solutions to everyday problems, made the hard way so they’re hand built for the long haul. Our all-leather, handcrafted Blueprint Tube keeps large format documents (like architectural blueprints, maps, artwork, and posters) safe and portable. Impressively hand-stitched in every detail, the Blueprint Tube is made from structural and sturdy Grade “A” American vegetable-tanned tooling leather – the same kind used in horse saddles. It stays shut with a permanently-attached, adjustable-length shoulder strap that tightens the lid down with a fast-release Conway buckle. It is undyed on the inside to protect the contents.
