Vintage KnitKing Knitting Machine withCarry Case Made in Germany Antique Old
Here’s a vintage knitting machine made by KnitKing. I’m unsure of the model number; I’ve looked it over and can’t find any model listed on it. The machine has “Brg L72857″ stamped on the bottom, but I don’t believe this is a model number. It comes with a sturdy carrying case that I believe is likely original. The case seems to be made of wood and is covered with a reddish dark brown vinyl-like material on the outside. It has a handle on top and there are four latches on the sides to keep it securely closed. The case measures about 45 inches from side to side, about 8.5 inches from front to back, and about 6 inches tall. Weighs over 24 pounds with the machine inside. The machine can be easily lifted out of the case. This knitting machine comes with the carriage but there are no other parts present. I don’t know if it originally had other parts or not, so I’m unsure if it is complete or not. Only what is shown in the photos is included. I’m unsure if the unit works or not; I don’t know how to operate it and have not done any testing. The carriage does slide back and forth across the unit. Cosmetically the unit is in good condition. It’s a bit dusty but not too bad; I’d guess that it was likely stored inside the case for the majority of its life but just due to age it has a bit of dust. There are no obvious signs of damage that I can see, but I’m not an expert on these machines so please be sure to view the photos. The case some some stains and discoloration on the inside, but this is really just a cosmetic issue. I’m unsure of the age of this piece as I can’t find any model number on it, but if I had to guess I would say maybe 1950’s or 1960’s. I don’t know if it works or not.
