Phaidon Design Classics Vols I-III (Complete 3 Volume Set). I found it frustrating and IMPOSSIBLE to fit the books back into the worst design of anything ever created… A specifically commissioned carrying unit designed by Konstantin Gricic. Have written to Phaidon for instructions and if and when I hear back will add it to this description and will likely include a photo to show how the 3 books are actually supposed to fit in to the carrier. I did break off one of the tiny 4 tips on the end of one of the spokes thinking maybe if I used a Phillips screwdriver it would twist off. I could write an essay on why so much “good” design like this carrier (and Phillip Stark’s citrus squeezer comes to mind) is actually terrible design. I have no argument with that. 999 objects were selected by a panel of experts that included designers, architects, auctioneers, critics, curators, journalists and academics. The volumes are illustrated with a wide range of photographs, original sketches, patents, prototypes and rarely seen archival images, painstakingly researched and collected directly from designers, archives and manufacturers. The three-volume book is an authoritative collection of design classics, which will include 999 industrially manufactured products, carefully selected by a group of experts. This is a 20+ year old collection of tools, carry cases, beads, findings and pendants from seeing the &####127758; and the states! When I was much younger I started a bead business with my mother that became very successful. But, early on an opportunity presented itself to me that I thought would give me a more fulfilling and secure future (also involving a husband hint hint) and so I chose to walk away from our business. My mother and aunt took over from there and I participated off and on thru the years but eventually was separated from the business for the last 5 years or so. But, suddenly and very sadly, my mother passed away and left to me, as part of her estate, the entirety of the beading business. Since I had chosen a different career path, I cannot restart the old business and so I’ve made the decision to sell the remainder of the collection outright. You couldn’t find some of the beads in this collection today, ANYWHERE! And there are so many different types of metal beads and findings, I cannot possibly list them all! From base metal to sterling silver, to silver plated and gold filled and vermillion. Jump rings, split rings gold rings, silver rings and every kind of clasp you can think of! Lobster, barrel, 3 strand, two strand.. The list is immense! The beads you see on the table are just an example of some. There are more beads and pearls in the containers that are in the carrying cases! I just tried to lay out an example for you. You’ll get the containers and the carrying cases too, those are expensive aren’t they? But not in this collection tho! There’s pearls, jades, turquoise, glass and cinnabar, natural stones and semi precious gems like amethyst, citrine and carnelian. The pendants are one of a kind and were the most expensive part of our shopping budget. Although, some of the beads could really put a dent in the budget too! Dollar for dollar you will not find a more comprehensive and complete collection of tools, beads and findings.
