The cord from the foot pedal has electrical tape on it but functions properly. I did nothing other then plug it in and step on the variable speed pedal. Impressive at how smoothly the machine worked and sounded. This is a well made machine. Extra bobbins, needles, feet, and several stitching cams. The original instruction book are also included. The pictures of the machine make it look almost new; it is not new and does show use. The case itself is very solid as is everything.
